Twin Oaks Computing - The First 15 Years

Twin Oaks Computing is proudly announcing 2020 is our 15th anniversary of providing practical middleware expertise! Roughly 15 years ago, 2 Lockheed Martin engineers decided to embark on a new adventure, and Twin Oaks Computing was born. Leveraging their software experience obtained from designing and deploying many complex software systems, they formed Twin Oaks Computing. Their goal was to help other software engineers with innovative and robust software solutions. "Software for distributed computing and embedded environments was a natural fit", says founder and CEO Clark Tucker. "We knew first hand the challenges of building complex and distributed software systems, and from the start I believed we could help other software programs manage and mitigate those challenges."

Twin Oaks Computing has come a long way in 15 years. Discovery of the Data Distribution Service standard has shaped the direction of the company over the last decade. Our engineering experience drove the development of CoreDX DDS, resulting in the small, fast, and reliable middleware product our partners and customers have come to know and depend on. Today, CoreDX DDS is used by defense, industrial, and medical systems around the world, increasing system capabilities while reducing development and maintenance costs. "We started Twin Oaks Computing with a love of software and a firm belief that software can be better. It can be robust, high performance, and easy to use," Clark continues.

That vision continues to drive the Twin Oaks Computing culture to this day. It shapes our development efforts and our interactions with customers. We sincerely appreciate the trust our customers place in us and our products. We strive every day to deliver above and beyond expectations, and we look forward to many more years.

Introduction to the Data Distribution Service at IoT Innovation North America - Webinar on Demand

Nina Tucker, VP of Technology at Twin Oaks Computing, spoke virtually at IoT Innovation North America.

This session is a technical presentation on DDS 101. The Data Distribution Service (DDS) from the Object Management Group (OMG) is a data connectivity framework becoming standardized in a wide range of industries and military systems. From autonomous vehicles and embedded medical devices to electrical grids and intelligence and weapon systems, DDS is found in a growing number of architecture standards and government contracts.

The presentation can be found hereRegistration Link (registration required).

Intro to DDS Webinar for Lockheed Martin

Join other Lockheed Martin employees for a Twin Oaks Computing webinar on September 8th at 9am MST to learn about the Data Distribution Service (DDS) technology and how it's currently being implemented at Lockheed Martin.

The Data Distribution Service (DDS) from the Object Management Group (OMG) is a data connectivity framework becoming standardized in a wide range of industries and military systems. From autonomous vehicles and embedded devices to electrical grids and intelligence and weapon systems, DDS is found in a growing number of government contracts.

In a session developed specifically for Lockheed Martin, Twin Oaks Computing will provide an introduction to the DDS technology along with current Lockheed Martin use cases of our CoreDX DDS products. CoreDX DDS is built for a wide range of targets, and is the only DDS product available for deeply embedded devices.

Target Audience: This webinar targets technical audiences with software architecture, design, and implementation responsibility for connected components, connected systems, and/or developing test and integration simulators, emulators, and other controlled test environments. You must have a Lockheed Martin email to register.

DDS Use Case - Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA)

October 28, 2020 - 7:00am PT / 10:00am ET / 2:00pm UK

More information and registration can be found

here.

Speaker: Dr Richard Saull Senior Consultant, Secure Platform Systems UK Space, Defense and Intelligence CGI

In service and future defense vehicle systems compromise an increasing range of attached equipment and systems. These require frequent refresh and addition to mitigate emerging threats and maintain operational edge.

This webinar will introduce the use of DDS as a key element of the UK and NATO Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA) standard. The GVA standard uses DDS to assure modularity and delamination of vehicle system elements and to underpin data standards for vehicle information. These in turn reduce the equipment needed and effort required to integrate existing and new platform elements.

The webinar will explain the use of DDS using production examples as a key part of the GVA to provide platform management systems, and further up the value chain to platform mission systems and extensions to secondary platforms such as unmanned ground vehicles.

This webinar is the latest in a series of use cases produced by the DDS Foundation. For more information, please visit
